can someone tell me why big software companys are not writting for linux?, why don't they start making linux versions of their software and sellling it as they would windows? as soon as this happens im moving to linux, please tell me someone as I have spent 2 hours googling and cant find out, reply to this comment!. thanks in advanced.

It does not advance, the tux send everything right, and there is not any kind of code that we closed down because the union makes the force.

Linus says how great the 386 was and that it had great features like memory management, segmentation and paging...also "task switching in the hardware". Hehehe...Linux doesn't use HW task switching but SW. It uses only one TSS. In fact rare OS does use that feature. I think that Intel removed it in "long mode" HW.
